Muse Monday: Spark that imagination! *prompts the muse 101* #WIP #nanowrimo

Prompting the Muse 101

With NaNoWriMo in full swing, you may find a moment when your muse just doesn't want to corporate. Take a deep breath, step away for a minute, and then press those fingers to the keys! And this exercise can help. Use one of the below prompts to write two or three sentences about your main character or a side character. It doesn't have to be used in your manuscript, but it can point your muse down a fun new path.
  1. The city burned, fire lighting up the night sky.
  2. Silk.
  3. The smell of freshly-cut grass.
  4. They came back every year to lay flowers at the spot.
  5. The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?
  6. This time her boss had gone too far.
  7. Red eyes.
  8. ‘Shh! Hear that?’ ‘I didn’t hear anything.’
  9. He’d always hated speaking in public.
  10. He’d never noticed a door there before.
